Welcome!
I'm Viveca, an international lawyer turned legal designer and democracy facilitator.
My journey began in France, where I completed my law degree before moving to Brussels. There, I spent a decade working as a lobbyist, at the European Commission, and later at a top law firm. After several years of exciting work, I started to wonder what I could do that felt more aligned with my values.
That curiosity led me to Stanford University, where I studied law and design thinking. I discovered the power of empathy, creativity, and human-centered design to make systems and lives simply better!
Today, I combine my legal background and design thinking with practices that cultivate empathy and real listening. From Åmmeberg, where I now live with my family (and a growing number of tomato plants), I run workshops, retreats, and legal design projects that bridge heart and mind.

DESIGN THINKING & LEGAL DESIGN
There is a method from Stanford University used to solve complex problems in a creative way. The method is called design thinking, and it puts the human being at the center. When I studied my Master of Laws at Stanford Law School in 2014/2015, I also took courses at the university’s d.school, where design thinking was born. Since then, I’ve applied the method in different contexts.
When design thinking is applied to the legal field, it’s called legal design. It’s an approach that adds clarity and empathy to law, without compromising on legal precision. After all, how can we follow laws, policies, and contracts if we don’t understand them?
